Board Game Cafe Edinburgh: What You’ll Find Inside Valour Games

If you’re looking for a board game cafe in Edinburgh with room to spread out, relax, and enjoy long gaming sessions, Valour Games is one of the most spacious gaming places in the city. Just off Leith Walk, we blend the comfort of a cafe with the openness of a large gaming hall—giving players the freedom to enjoy everything from quick board games to full campaign nights without feeling cramped.

Here’s what you can expect when you step inside.

A Spacious, Comfortable Venue Designed for Play

Valour Games is housed in a renovated Georgian stable block—later a commercial bakery—now transformed into a wide, open gaming space. Unlike many board game cafes in Edinburgh, our layout prioritises room to spread out.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • Large tables with plenty of elbow room
  • Lots of space to walk between tables and open seating areas
  • Space for groups, couples, and solo gamers
  • A layout designed for long, relaxed sessions

Whether you’re playing a compact card game or a sprawling strategy title, you’ll have the space you need to enjoy it fully.

A Board Game Library for All Types of Players

Our curated board game collection is designed to suit every kind of visitor. You’ll find:

  • Quick, easy to play games
  • Deep strategy games
  • Cooperative adventures and campaign‑based titles
  • Family‑friendly favourites
  • Two‑player games perfect for quieter evenings

If you’re unsure what to play, we’re happy to help you choose something that fits your group and your time.

A Cafe Experience That Supports Long Gaming Sessions

Valour Games offers a relaxed cafe atmosphere where you can settle in with standard gaming sessions of 3.5 hours. We also have:

  • Great coffee, hot and cold drinks and alcohol-free beers.
  • Snacks suited to gaming tables
  • Plenty of space to keep refreshments separate from your board

It’s a comfortable environment designed to keep you refreshed without interrupting your game.

More Than a Board Game Cafe

Valour Games is also a hub for Edinburgh’s wider gaming community. Alongside board games, you’ll find:
